Kyra Hoover Killed in Wilbarger County Two-Vehicle Crash on US 287

Wilbarger County, Texas (July 23, 2021) – A woman was killed on Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash in Wilbarger County, according to the DPS.

The crash happened around 3:00 p.m., July 21, on US 287, just outside of Oklaunion.

DPS said two vehicles were involved in the collision.

One of the drivers, Kyra McKinzee Hoover, 21, of Frederick, Oklahoma, was taken to United Regional in Wichita Falls where she later died.

The other driver, from Plano, was taken to Wilbarger General Hospital with serious injuries.

The crash closed northbound US 287 for about two hours.

The crash remains under investigation.
