Madelin Hubler, Larry Moore, Kevin January, Allie Schmaltz and 6 Others Injured in Temple Crash on Interstate 35 near Loop 363
Temple, Texas (March 27, 2019) – Ten people were hospitalized Saturday evening after a traffic accident in Temple, authorities reported.
The collision took place just before 4:30 p.m. Saturday, March 16 in the northbound lanes of Interstate 35, just off Loop 363.
Authorities said traffic was stopped or slowing on the interstate when an approaching 18-wheeler failed to stop in time and the driver swerved in an attempted to avoid the collision but ended up crashing into several vehicles.
Madelin Hubler, 14, who was the occupant of the first vehicle struck, sustained major injuries and was transported to a hospital. Others in the vehicle were Richard Moore, 65, Kathy Moore, 65, Kevin January, 53, Tammy January, 47, Karren January, 11, and Bobbie Hubler, 43. All were sustained non-incapacitating injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
