Winkler County, Texas – Two Kermit ISD students were killed on Easter Sunday in a two-vehicle crash in Winkler County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The fatal crash happened around 1:07 p.m., March 31, at the intersection of SH 18 and FM 874.

DPS said 47-year-old Eddie Hall was driving a 2015 Mack Truck with a trailer westbound on FM 874 while 18-year-old Kermit ISD student Noel Rodriguez was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado northbound on SH 18, approaching the intersection.

Hall disregarded the stop sign and entered the intersection in front of the Silverado. The Silverado then struck the Mack Truck.

Rodriguez and his passenger, 18-year-old Kermit ISD student Andrea Burkhalter, were both killed in the crash.

Hall was taken to Winkler County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
