Wajma Popal Killed in Reeves County Three-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 10

Reeves County, Texas (January 10, 2020) – A woman was killed on Thursday in a head-on crash in Reeves County, according to a local news source.

The fatal crash happened on Interstate 10.

As per the report, Wajma Popal, 44, of The Colony, was driving a Nissan Altima westbound on the interstate while a semi-truck occupied by two men was traveling behind her.

Esteban Padilla-Mena, 57, of Whittier, CA, was driving a semi-truck eastbound when he crossed the center median into the westbound lane and crashed head-on into Popal’s Altima. Padilla-Mena then hit the other semi-truck.

Popal was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
