One Killed in Smith County Motorcycle Crash on State Highway 64

Smith County, Texas (March 17, 2021) – One person was killed in a motorcycle crash Monday afternoon in Smith County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 3:00 p.m., March 15, on State Highway 64 near County Road 299, three miles west of the city of Arp.

According to a preliminary investigation, a 2010 Ford Edge was stopped in the eastbound lane of the highway and wanted to turn left onto County Road 299 when it was rear-ended by a 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was pronounced at the scene.

The Ford driver was uninjured in the crash.
