1 Seriously Injured in DWI Crash on Midkiff in Midland; Alfredo Deanda Arrested

One Seriously Injured in Midland Car Crash on Midkiff; Alfredo Deanda Arrested

Midland, Texas (March 10, 2022) – One person was seriously injured, and a man was arrested following an early Sunday morning DWI crash in Midland, according to the authorities.

The crash was reported around 1:45 a.m., March 6, in the 1000 block of S Midkiff.

Authorities said Midland Police Department was called to Club Arriba to investigate a crash. Officers found Alfredo Deanda, 41, and he told them that he had been in a verbal argument with his wife when he left her behind at the bar and got into his vehicle. He pulled out from the parking lot into the street, and his car was hit by an oncoming vehicle.

Deanda told officers that he had about two shots of Tequila and six beers while at Club Arriba. He has slurred speech, glassy eyes, and smelled strongly of alcohol. He was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital, where doctors drew his blood. He was then medically cleared and taken to the Midland County Detention Center.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, including a dislocated or broken right knee, as well as torn tendons. 

Deanda was later released from jail on a $25,000 bond. 

An investigation into the crash is underway.
