Aaric Arias Killed in San Antonio Multi-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 10

San Antonio, Texas (February 18, 2023) – A man was killed early Thursday morning in a chain-reaction crash in San Antonio, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 2:30 a.m., February 16, on the access road of Interstate 10 westbound, near Medical Drive.

Police said a man was driving a black 2014 Cadillac CTS at a high rate of speed when he hit a rock and then crashed into a stone fence. He was ejected, and the Cadillac rolled over. An orange Camaro ran into the back of the rolled vehicle and a silver sedan before crashing into a tree.

The sedan driver, 20-year-old Aaric Arias, was ejected and was taken to University Hospital, where he later died.

The other two drivers were detained at the scene on suspicion of DWI.

The police are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
