35-Year-Old Matthew Cody Shurtleff Killed in Weatherford Pedestrian Accident on Santa Fe Drive

Weatherford, Texas (March 11, 2020) – The 35-year-old man who was fatally struck by a vehicle Monday morning in Weatherford has been identified as Matthew Cody Shurtleff, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The deadly accident occurred around 7:16 a.m., March 9, in the 700 block of Santa Fe Drive.

According to a preliminary investigation, Shurtleff was walking eastbound to westbound across the street from an apartment complex when he was hit in the outside lane by a northbound vehicle driven by an elderly woman.

Shurtleff was rushed to Medical City Weatherford, where he later died. 

The Weatherford Police Department advanced accident team is investigating the crash.
