Nelson Rivera-Aguilar, Orlando Machorro-Ramos, Jose Gonzalez-Galvez, Kevin Portillo, and Nathan Malosh Killed in Comfort Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 87

Comfort, Texas (June 22, 2023) – The five people who were killed on Sunday in a head-on collision in Comfort have been identified as Nelson Rivera-Aguilar, 32; Orlando Machorro-Ramos, 16; Jose Gonzalez-Galvez, 30; Kevin Portillo, 28; and Nathan Malosh, 32, all from San Antonio, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 7:38 a.m., on June 18, in the 900 block of Highway 87.

Troopers said a white Mazda sedan carrying Rivera-Aguilar, Machorro-Ramos, Gonzalez-Galvez, and Portillo was traveling northbound when it disregarded a no-passing zone and crashed head-on into a black Nissan SUV driven by Malosh.

All five victims were killed in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
