Two Killed in Kaufman County Two-Vehicle Crash on SH 243 near CR 109

Kaufman County, Texas (January 20, 2021) – Two people were killed in a head-on collision Monday night in eastern Kaufman County, according to the Texas DPS.

The deadly crash occurred around 8:40 p.m., January 18, on State Highway 243, near County Road 109.

DPS said a 2018 GMC SUV was traveling eastbound on the highway when the driver lost control, veered into the westbound lane, and crashed head-on into a westbound 2005 Honda.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. Their victims’ identities have not been released.

The crash remains under investigation.
