Woman Killed in DUI Crash on Goliad Road and SE Military Drive in San Antonio; Phillip Lopez Arrested

Woman Killed in San Antonio Multi-Vehicle Crash on Goliad Road and SE Military Drive; Phillip Lopez Arrested

San Antonio, Texas (August 16, 2020) – The woman who was critically injured Friday evening in a car crash in San Antonio’s Southeast Side has died, according to police.

The crash occurred at about 6:00 p.m., August 14, in the area of Goliad Road and SE Military Drive.

Police said Phillip Lopez, 30, stole a vehicle and drove it down on Goliad Road, where he struck two cars. He then almost collided head-on with another vehicle driven by a woman.

The woman was taken to the hospital with critical injuries, where she later died. Her name has not been released.

Lopez was arrested and has been charged with murder.

The crash remains under investigation.
