Woman Hurt in Port Arthur Bicycle Crash on Gulfway Drive near Ninth Avenue

Port Arthur, Texas (June 20, 2019) – A woman riding a bicycle was struck and injured by a vehicle on Wednesday evening in Port Arthur.

According to a report by the Arthur Police Department, the wreck occurred at about 7 p.m. June 19, in the 3800 block of Gulfway Drive near Ninth Avenue.

Police said a woman riding a bicycle was struck when she pulled out of a street and entered into the path of traffic. The involved driver reportedly attempted to swerve to avoid the woman but was unsuccessful.

The woman was hospitalized with unknown injuries.

The driver of the car remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

The crash remains under investigation.
