2 Dead in Head-On Crash on West Port Arthur Road in Port Arthur

2 Killed in Port Arthur Car Accident on West Port Arthur Road near 61st Street
Port Arthur, Texas (February 23, 2019) – Two people were killed Friday night in a head-on collision in Port Arthur, police said.
The horrific accident happened at about 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 22 near the intersection of West Port Arthur Road and 61st Street.
According to the police, two pickup trucks collided for an unknown reason near the intersection.
One person in each truck was pronounced dead at the scene. Their names have not been released pending identification and notification of next of kin.
It was immediately unknown if anyone else was injured in the crash.
The wreck caused the closure of West Port Arthur Road in both directions.
No other details were immediately available. An investigation into the crash is underway.
