Driver Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on Gulf Freeway in Houston

25-Year-Old Killed in Houston Car Crash on Gulf Freeway (I-45) near Tanger Outlets
Houston, Texas (March 23, 2019) – One person was killed early Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash on a Houston freeway, a local news source reported.
The fatal crash occurred at about 4:30 a.m. in the 5000 block of Gulf Freeway (Interstate 45) near Tanger Outlets.
Officials said a Cadillac had mechanical issues and was stalled in the middle lane of the freeway when a pickup truck crashed into it.
Officials said the pickup driver didn’t see the Cadillac before crashing into it.
The Cadillac driver, a 25-year-old, was declared dead at the scene.
A portion of Gulf Freeway south from Holland Road to FM 1764 was closed following the crash.
All southbound traffic was diverted to the feeder road.
Officers said alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
