Eight Children and Driver Injured in San Patricio County School Bus Crash at TX-359 and County Road 1038

San Patricio County, Texas (February 4, 2021) – Eight children and a driver were injured early Wednesday morning in a school bus crash in San Patricio County, according to deputies.

The crash happened on February 3, at the intersection of TX-359 and County Road 1038, south of Mathis.

Deputies said a school bus was traveling southbound when it attempted to turn left onto CR 1038 and was hit by a southbound car that was passing a set of vehicles.

Eight children in the bus sustained minor injuries in the crash.

The bus driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
