Several Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on Grand Parkway in Houston
Multiple People Hospitalized after Houston Crash on Grand Parkway at Kingsland
Houston, Texas (October 19, 2023) – Several people were injured Tuesday night following a hit-and-run accident in Houston, authorities said.
The crash occurred at around 11:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 17, on Grand Parkway at Kingsland.
According to authorities, an 18-year-old woman was driving a white Camaro northbound on Grand Parkway at a high rate of speed when she lost control and crashed into the back end of an SUV. A third vehicle became involved in the crash.
The impact caused the SUV to veer into the grass median and hit a tree. The back seat passenger, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the SUV.
The ejected victim was airlifted to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, where she was listed in critical condition.
The other two occupants of the SUV were hurt, including a female front-seat passenger, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were also taken to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center.
The driver of the third vehicle was taken to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The 18-year-old driver of the Camaro fled the scene, but she was found hiding at a gas station. She is facing a charge of failure to stop and render aid.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
