Several Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on Grand Parkway in Houston

Multiple People Hospitalized after Houston Crash on Grand Parkway at Kingsland

Houston, Texas (October 19, 2023) – Several people were injured Tuesday night following a hit-and-run accident in Houston, authorities said.

The crash occurred at around 11:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 17, on Grand Parkway at Kingsland.

According to authorities, an 18-year-old woman was driving a white Camaro northbound on Grand Parkway at a high rate of speed when she lost control and crashed into the back end of an SUV. A third vehicle became involved in the crash.

The impact caused the SUV to veer into the grass median and hit a tree. The back seat passenger, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the SUV.

The ejected victim was airlifted to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, where she was listed in critical condition.

The other two occupants of the SUV were hurt, including a female front-seat passenger, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were also taken to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center.

The driver of the third vehicle was taken to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The 18-year-old driver of the Camaro fled the scene, but she was found hiding at a gas station. She is facing a charge of failure to stop and render aid.

Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
