1 Killed, 10 Injured in Head-On Crash on Lake Shore Drive in Waco

Man Dies, 10 Hurt in Waco Car Accident on Lake Shore Drive

Waco, Texas (July 26, 2019) – A man was killed and eight children were injured Thursday in a traffic crash involving a church van in Waco, according to a local news source.

The wreck happened on Lake Shore Drive on Thursday, July 25.

Authorities said a minivan was traveling on Lake Shore Drive when for an unknown reason, it drifted over the center divider and collided head-on with a van from the First United Methodist Church.

The 50-year-old driver of the minivan was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver’s 7-year-old daughter, who was a passenger, was transported to the hospital in unknown condition.

The driver of the church van and eight children on board suffered minor injuries. All the injured parties were taken to Hillcrest Hospital.

The name of the deceased victim has not been identified pending notification of next of kin.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
