Aleida Rios Killed in Beaumont Multi-Vehicle Crash on IH-10 at North 11th Street

Beaumont, Texas (April 20, 2021) – According to the police, one person was killed, and four others were injured Thursday afternoon in a multi-vehicle crash in Beaumont.

The fatal crash happened on April 15, at the intersection of Interstate Highway 10 and North 11th Street near Luby’s.

Police said a 16-year-old boy was driving a Dodge pickup truck eastbound on the IH-10 service road at a high rate of speed when he ran a red light at the intersection and T-boned a southbound Chevrolet HHR.

The force of the impact pushed the HHR into the northbound lanes, where it collided with a Chevrolet Equinox and a Ford pickup truck.

Aleida Tovias Rios, 51, of Beaumont, who was riding in the HHR, was killed in the crash.

Four other people sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
