Haley Darnell Killed in Kroger Car Accident on FM 4

Kroger, Texas (June 6, 2020) – According to police, a Glen Rose nurse was killed Tuesday evening in a car crash south of Kroger.

The fatal crash happened on June 2, on FM 4.

Police said a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu was heading northbound on the highway when a speeding 2005 Honda Accord entered the turn lane trying to pass a vehicle.

The Honda driver, Shaquettia Carter, 35, of Cresson, lost control, entered the northbound lane and crashed into a vehicle driven by Haley Darnell, 44.

Darnell was pronounced dead at the scene. She had just dropped off her son at the Texas Edge baseball field before the accident.

Carter was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth with a leg injury.

The crash remains under investigation.
