Roxanne Medina Killed in Head-On Collision on Highway 83/84 in Abilene

Roxanne Medina ID’d as 1 of 2 Killed in Abilene Crash on Highway 83/84 near Kirby Lake

Abilene, Texas (May 5, 2022) – Authorities have identified one of the two people who died Wednesday night following a head-on crash in Abilene as Roxanne Rivero Medina, 35, of Abilene.

The deadly collision happened shortly after 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, on Highway 83/84 near Kirby Lake.

Witnesses told the authorities that a sedan was traveling in the wrong direction on the highway at a high rate of speed, causing multiple vehicles to move out of its way. The sedan ultimately collided head-on with an SUV driven by Medina.

Medina was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the sedan also died at the crash site.

Both drivers were sole occupants of their respective vehicles.

No other injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation.
