Kaylin M. Wells and Unborn Baby Killed in Weatherford Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 51 near Bagget Road

Weatherford, Texas (June 18, 2019) – A woman and her unborn child were killed Sunday afternoon in a head-on collision in Weatherford, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The collision happened at about 4:00 p.m., June 16, on Farm-to-Market Road 51 North, just north of Bagget Road.

According to a preliminary investigation, Joshua Laposky, 23, of Weatherford, was driving a 2009 black Ford Mustang northbound on FM 51 when for an unknown reason he crossed the center stripe into the southbound lane and crashed head-on into a Nissan Sentra driven by Luis Romero-Rivas, 25, of Weatherford.

Romero-Rivas was treated and released at the scene.

Kaylin M. Wells, 22, of Weatherford, and a 2-year old boy, who were passengers in the Nissan, were taken to Fort Worth hospitals for treatment. Wells and her unborn baby later died.

Laposky was taken to a Fort Worth hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact the DPS South Office at 817-599-8463 and leave a message for DPS Trooper Ivey.
