Woman Killed in DUI Crash on Harrisburg Boulevard and 75th Street in Houston

Woman Killed, Child Critically Injured in Houston Car Crash on Harrisburg Boulevard and 75th Street
Houston, Texas (January 21, 2019) – A woman was killed and a child was hospitalized early Sunday morning following a traffic accident involving two vehicles in east Houston, according to police.
The collision took place at about 1:15 a.m. Sunday, January 20 on Harrisburg Boulevard and 75th street.
Police said a red pickup ran a red light and struck a Cadillac occupied by four people, including two children.
A female passenger in the sedan sustained severe injuries and was taken to the hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Her name has not been released pending identification and notification of her relatives.
A 5-year-old girl, who was one of the children, was also taken to the hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.
The driver of the pickup, Isreal Suarez Lugo, 35, was not injured. He was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault.
Lugo was booked into Harris County Jail.
The crash remains under investigation.
